FOOD BASKET DISTRIBUTION

The Hasdei Avot organization distributes baskets of nutritious food product and cleaning supplies to immigrant families and others under financial distress. Each family that requests assistance has to be open with our assessors about the family's income and expenses, and we make a personalized plan for aid for each one. The families receive a tailored package of food assistance for a period of 3 months. Donations to this project come from a variety of sources across the country, for example we are in partnership with the "Latet" organization which collects donations from individuals, institutions and businesses. Donations can be cash or cash value. We may for example receive a donation from a factory for two thousand bottles of cooking oil, and we arrange for a truck to collect the donation. Food vouchers
We arrange for food vouchers from various bodies that are redeemable at various shops allowing families to purchase goods.

Meat and fish subsidies
